Join ShoreRivers this summer for its beloved big-tent party on the banks of the Chester River!

Scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at Wilmer Park in Chestertown, ShoreRivers’ annual Solstice Celebration includes an open bar with Ten Eyck beer, Crow Vineyards wine, and a signature cocktail and mocktail; hors d’oeuvres and a full buffet dinner and dessert; and live music and dancing. The celebration begins at 6pm and continues through dusk with a rousing live auction where guests will bid on exceptional artwork, trips to enticing destinations, and more.

“I can think of no better way to celebrate the bounty and beauty of our Eastern Shore rivers than by gathering in their honor at the Solstice Celebration,” says Scott Budden, Executive Director of ShoreRivers. “This annual event is one I’ve been looking forward to hosting since taking the helm at ShoreRivers, and I invite everyone in our community to meet me under the tent for cocktails, regional fare, live jazz, and a chance to raise a glass (and a bidder’s paddle) to thriving rivers, engaged communities, and all the work going on in our watersheds to achieve both.”

A Guest Places a Bid at ShoreRivers’ Live Auction

The celebration will feature our talented community partners at the Chesapeake Culinary Center. Committed to building a local workforce to serve the Eastern Shore’s culinary and hospitality tourism industries, the Culinary Center provides top-notch service and fresh, locally-grown food. Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy live music by Judd Nielsen and Friends, and admire stunning floral arrangements courtesy of Wildly Native, a family farm in Chestertown, Md., that focuses on hand-selected, in-season flowers that are harvested locally at the peak of bloom.

Following the live auction, all guests are invited to raise their paddle to help ShoreRivers acquire a new Chester Riverkeeper boat. A safe and nimble, on-the-water presence is key to the success of the Riverkeeper program and we’re eager to upgrade our fleet — the ShoreRivers mission thrives on generous community support. Buy your tickets, secure your table through a sponsorship, and find more information at shorerivers.org/events. ShoreRivers is grateful for the early support of lead sponsors Drs. Theodore H.
