{"content":"If you stopped me on the street and asked me on the spot to name one person who embodies Your Good News, without hesitation I would tell you Sandy Adams.\nThat is why writing this makes my heart swell a little. Sandy has agreed to become a regular contributor to Your Good News.\nThe first time I met Sandy Adams was at the now-closed Denny’s Restaurant on Route 50 in Easton. She had worked there as both a waitress and manager.\nSandy\u0026rsquo;s article: Finding The Good\nOne cold November evening, my friends Joe, Larry, and I had collected blankets from friends to take to some of the homeless men and women we knew were living around Easton. Earlier, I had put out a post asking for donations, and without fail, the people of this town responded.\nWe drove around looking for the encampments, but all the places we knew about were empty. One of the places we had heard about was the woods behind Denny’s, so we stopped in to ask the staff if they knew whether anyone was staying back there.\nSandy was there.\nThat was the first time we met.\nAnd right away, you just knew you were in the presence of someone great. Not the kind of greatness that comes from fame, money, or position, but the kind that comes from somewhere deep within a person.\nSandy knew people by name. She knew their stories. She knew who was struggling, who needed help, who had fallen through the cracks, and who just needed someone to care enough to notice. She was not helping people because it was a program. She was helping because that is who she is.\nThat night, what stood out to me was not just that Sandy cared. Lots of people care. What stood out was that Sandy acted. She paid attention. She remembered. She followed through. She had the rare kind of compassion that does not stop at feeling bad for someone. It turns into work.\nThat is Sandy Adams.\nAnd that is why I am so happy to announce that Sandy will be joining Your Good News as a regular contributor.\nSandy is the Founder of Friends Helping Friends Network, Inc., a community-driven organization that helps people move toward stability and independence through accountability, budget guidance, realistic goal setting, and practical support. Her work grew out of personal hardship, firsthand experience, and a clear understanding that many people do not need to be dismissed, judged, or forgotten. They need someone willing to walk beside them as they take their next best step.\nWith more than 40 years of work and management experience, and more than 12 years dedicated to helping others become successfully independent, Sandy brings more than a title to this project. She brings lived wisdom. She brings love for this community. She brings the kind of good news that is not theoretical. It is practical, personal, and rooted in service.\nI cannot think of a better person to help tell the good stories happening around us.\nWelcome, Sandy. We are blessed to have you.\n","date":"2026-05-13","params":{"author":"norms-ministry","date":"2026-05-13T04:19:00-04:00","draft":false,"featured":false,"featured_in_issue":false,"iscjklanguage":false,"lastmod":"2026-05-13T04:48:57-04:00","permission_status":"needs_review","publishdate":"2026-05-13T04:19:00-04:00","status":"approved","sticky":false,"story_type":"community","summary":"Sandy Adams, Founder of Friends Helping Friends Network, Inc., is joining Your Good News as a regular contributor.
